Sarah set up her first property development company aged just 24 along with her brother Diccon and now husband, Graham Swift. Since then, she and Graham have created a number of influential and exciting businesses.

Her passion for architectural heritage was brought to the masses in 2012 when Sarah, Graham and their 4 sons opened the doors to their exquisite home, Rise Hall to allow viewers of Sarah Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare to follow their long-term edit restoration project.  The TV show charted the painful yet extremely rewarding journey of Sarah and family turning a stately home wreak into a unique and beautiful wedding and events venue.

With over 20 years experience, Sarah is one of the most familiar and trusted names in the world of property and has written regular columns for national newspapers and magazines, in addition to numerous books. Her upcoming memoir The Simple Life (Seven Dials, 2023) tells the story of the family moving to the West Country in search of a different lifestyle and covers everything from parenting, work/life balance, nature and her recent cancer diagnosis.

Sarah's show, Renovate Don't Relocate, became UKTV's best-performing property title with the first episode reaching an audience of four hundred and seventy-eight thousand. The show is now repeated on the W channel in addition to Really, and has returned with a second series for HGTV.  In this she uses smart tech and life-size floor plans to bring design ideas alive, helping homeowners rethink their space and transform their lives. Sarah is well-known for presenting Channel 4’s Double Your House for Half the Money, Help! My House is Falling Down, Restoration Nightmare and Property Ladder.

Sarah let viewers into her home once more in 2020 in her show for Channel 4, Sarah Beeny's New Life in the Country, following the property guru and her family as they quit their lives in London. The show's second series aired in 2021.

Sarah's most recent series Little House, Big Plans is on air now on Channel 4. The show follows Sarah lending her expert knowledge in renovation to those who want to expand and renovate their smaller living spaces.
