Banjo Beale

Designer, stylist, raconteur, winner of BBC’s Interior Design Masters 2021, and occasional goat wrangler; Banjo is a multi-talented presenter who weaves a little bit of magic into everything he touches. Before he captured the heart of the nation with his outlandish adventures, wild imagination, and trademark colourful designs on Interior Design Masters, Banjo worked as an ‘Ideas Director’. In 2014 he left Australia to embark on a world tour and never looked back. He now lives on a cheese farm on a remote Scottish island.

Combining vintage finds with clever design, Banjo creates characterful spaces for colourful characters. Sustainability is at the heart of everything he creates: reimagining the unwanted, elevating old to new, and embracing innovative materials that don’t cost the earth. Living on an island is Banjo's recipe to success: resourceful, inventive, and original, he uses only what is at hand, avoiding fast furniture and trends to create bold and ground-breaking new design schemes.

Today, Banjo can be found making pottery with his 85-year-old best mate Chris, feeding goats and tourists, styling a photoshoot, and most often, sharing stories behind people, places, and spaces.
